GLA Land Trust Donation

On behalf of Winter Creek Homes, GLA Morris Construction, Inc. has proudly donated 12.7 acres of privately owned, sensitive, wetland to the Truckee Donner Land Trust, helping to ensure open space as a permanent part of Truckee’s vast landscape.

“Donating this property, located at the front of Winter Creek on Brockway Road, was critical to preserving this environmentally sensitive site and protecting the area from future development” said Tom Grossman of GLA Morris. “Turning this acreage over to the Truckee Donner Land Trust ensures that this incredible wetland area will be conserved and protected as open space indefinitely”.

Additionally, by building a pedestrian trail to prevent foot traffic through the delineated wetland areas, GLA Morris Construction has taken further measures to eliminate impact to the wetland, while still making it possible for the area to be enjoyed by Truckee residents, homeowners, and visitors alike.

In the early spring, this sensitive wetland attracts many birds, deer and other wild life. The land creates a natural and scenic buffer between Brockway Road and the Winter Creek subdivision.

The Truckee Donner Land Trust was established in 1990 to sustain the natural alpine integrity of the greater Truckee/Donner area by preserving and protecting important recreational, scenic and historic open spaces in the area.
