Winter Creek Homes’ premiere location makes it convenient for any family to head out to their favorite mountain for a day of skiing. These are just a few of the local ski resorts that all fall within 20 minutes of Winter Creek Homes.

Northstar at Tahoe - A world class ski resort conveniently located just a few miles from Winter Creek Homes, Northstar-at-Tahoe™ is a four-season, family-friendly resort destination. In addition to offering 2,400 acres of skiable terrain, the resort offers several terrain parks, two half pipes, ice-skating, tubing, cross-country ski and snowshoe trails, as well as dog sledding tours. Off the slopes, the beautifully developed village and new Ritz-Carlton feature an array of lodging choices, restaurants, bars, shops, and services.

Squaw Valley USA - Host of the 1960 Winter Olympics, and just 10 miles from Winter Creek Homes, Squaw Valley USA is perhaps the most well known of Tahoe’s ski resorts and the largest in the North Lake Tahoe area. The resort features 4000 acres of skiing, 30 lifts and 450 inches of annual snow. The mountain offers 25% beginner, 45% intermediate and 30% advanced terrain. Also available is Children’s World for ages 2 - 12, which offers several programs tailored to the age and ability of each child, supervised ski lessons, snow play and all around fun. Squaw’s Village is world class too with many great shops, restaurants, bars, and services.

Sugar Bowl Ski Resort - Located on the western slope of Donner Summit, and 15 minutes from Winter Creek off of Interstate 80, the Sugar Bowl Ski Resort offers world-class skiing for the whole family. Skiers can appreciate the 1,500 acres of skiing areas and snowboarders can tackle the half pipe, measuring 450 ft (122 m) long by 20 ft (6 m) high. Amenities at the resort include restaurants, bars, lodging options, rental shops, retail stores, and a learning center.

Boreal Mountain Resort - Boreal Mountain Resort is conveniently located right off of Interstate 80, just eight miles west of Truckee and 80 miles east of Sacramento, making it one of the closest Tahoe ski areas to the Bay area and Reno. With night-skiing and friendly staff, the mountain is a good place to learn to ski or ride and its terrain parks and half-pipe make the mountain popular with trick riders. Parent interchangeable tickets, sledding and mini snowmobiles are available for families with young children.

Donner Ski Ranch - A local legend, Donner Ski Ranch provides terrain for every level of skier. Donner Ski Ranch has a base elevation is 7031 feet, vertical rise is 750 feet, and its annual snowfall is about 33 feet. There is one triple chairlift and five double chairlifts. The Ski Lodge includes a cafeteria, cocktail lounge, ski shop, rental shop, retail shop, and personal lockers. Free guided tours of the hill are available and of course the fun comes free.
